The contest is open to anyone with a “retail business” idea. The only criteria for what type of retail business is simply that people must be able to walk in and pay money to get something in return – products, goods, services, food, or drinks. Detroit’s Dorais Velodrome bicycle racing track, like much of the city, laid abandoned for decades. Recently, a group of volunteers reclaimed it from the overgrowth and created the perfect place to race old motorcycles.
This rare find has also spurred local entrepreneurs to start up a racing series made for mopeds, scooters, road bicycles and mountain bicycles to takes place on the Dorais Velodrome. There first race will take place on Saturday, October 16th starting at 8:00am.
All profits from Thunderdrome events will be used to maintain and update Dorais Park and the Velodrome.
